Botanic Gardens Book Trail
Comments Off on Botanic Gardens Book TrailFor the entire month of October, we have set up a book trail at the West Virginia Botanic Gardens. The book, “At the Old Haunted House” by Kelen Ketteman, will be displayed on pop-up boards along a trail so that you can move, enjoy the outdoors, and follow along a story. You can find the book trail near the labyrinth area at the gardens.

Fill out your handouts and take it to a library branch location by November 5th where 3 winners will be drawn to win $25 gift cards to a business along the rail trail.

3-Sentence Horror Story Contest

Online submissions are accepted October 1st – October 21st for three different age categories: kids, teens, and adults at https://bit.ly/3EFGiSM. A panel of judges will select a winner from each age category. Winners get a $25 gift card to Black Bear Burritos!
- Your submission must be 3 sentences long.
- Submissions must be your own work.
- Anyone under the age of 18 requires parent or guardian permission to enter.
- Participants must reside in Monongalia County.

Teen Book Box Club

- Receive a box of library books related to the month’s theme (each registrant will receive a different set of library books that will need to be returned) along with a snack, an activity, and some book-related surprises,
- Turn in your opinions about those books for a chance to win prizes, and,
- Join us at the end of the month for a book discussion.

Virtual Story Time with Ms. Sharon

She’ll be on Facebook Live every Saturday at 1:00 pm to read your favorite story and complete some related activities! These story times are designed for preschool children.
This week, Ms. Sharon will be reading “Sneeze, Big Bear, Sneeze!” by Maureen Wright.
At the beginning of each week, you can pick up a FREE activity kit at the front desk of the Morgantown Public Library, downtown branch. Each activity kit is designed specifically for that week’s story.
What you’ll find in the kit:
